Slimline Succulent Bouquet

Slimline Succulent Bouquet

So I have had the Hero Arts Succulent Bouquet stamp and die combo since the spring and I have never used it! I thought I would pull it out and try my hand at coloring it.

I began by stamping Succulent Bouquet twice with my Hero Arts Intense Black ink on a medium grey cardstock (My Colors Cloak Grey, my fav). I also stamped and colored the cute little snail also in the stamp set. I colored all the entire images with a pale yellow pencil crayon. I wanted a light colored base so my other colors would pop.

Then I colored over top of the yellow with a variety of green, blue and red pencils crayons. Once completed, I cut out the images with the matching die.

I had a slimline card idea in my head so rummaged around my dies for some sort of background and found the Photoplay Criss Cross Coverplate die. I cut this out of white cardstock.

I made a light grey card base and glued the Criss Cross die to the cardbase. I used my thin Scrapbook Adhesives foam to pop up my bouquets. I did a bit of surgery on my die cut images because some the the dangling greenery hung over the bottom of the card so I trimmed them so we had a flat bottom on my card so it would stand nicely. I added these extra greenery bits behind the succulents. I debated adding a sentiment to the card front but decided if I needed a sentiment I could add that to the inside of my card.

Thanks for stopping by!
