Use Up those Scraps!

Use Up those Scraps!

I have been on a bit of a use your scraps phase lately. I mean, we all have those tiny scraps that we are going to use "one day" I'm trying to make NOW one day. This card was super easy to put together the hardest part was finding colors I liked together.

This card is an A2 size. I found a white panel measuring 3 3/4 x 5" then I cut thin strips 1/4" strips from 6 different colors of cardstock. One thing to keep in mind when doing this technique is if your strips are going at an angle they need to be longer then 3 3/4. If you do mis-measure no worries just try to put the join near the middle so when you cut out your middle circle it will disappear. Lay out your colored strips butting them as close to each other as possible. I did 2 strips of each color except the pink. The pink strip is in the middle then I did an orange strip on either side then yellow and so on.

Once I had all my strips positioned as I liked I took the panel and cut a 2 3/4" circle out of the middle of the strips.  After I did this I found a scrap of white vellum and cut a slightly smaller circle out of the centre and positioned the vellum behind the striped panel.

I stamped a Penny Black sentiment using Versafine Claire Warm Breeze ink on the main card base then I positioned the vellum and striped panel on top. I finished the card by adding some die cut stars and Spellinders gems.
